First things first: Earth Day falls on April 22 this year, a global event designed to celebrate our beautiful planet and promote awareness about how to take care of it. Doing something to preserve our environment is a huge part of why Earth Day exists---though Crouch Florist thinks we should be doing so all year long---but it's not the only reason we observe this day. There's a lot to be said for drawing attention to the Earth's natural resources and abundance, its fruits and riches; if we admire and appreciate them, we'll feel more deeply connected to our planet. Then we'll see how important it is to take care of it. Spend the day at a recycling drive or environmental fair or clean-up, but also remember to revel in nature, feeling grateful for what it gives us. Read More about How To Have A Joyful Earth Day »
We've made it through winter and officially into spring. We've shined up our homes, cleaned up our yards, and now it's time to turn our attention to the work place. Desks need love, too, and if there's one thing we know here at Crouch Florist, it's how to make a work surface really shine. That's why we're campaigning on behalf of sad desks everywhere, bringing a little awareness to the predicament of cluttered, disorganized or totally bereft work surfaces that could use a major refresh. We love baskets here at Crouch Florist, which should come as no surprise to anyone, since we're big fans of great containers for flowers and plants. But the messaging behind giving a basket is what makes them so special, we think. When you offer a gift in a basket, you're also offering a sense of comfort and plenty. Whatever is in a basket automatically feels special, just by virtue of the way it's been delivered. Read More about Blooming Baskets For Easter »

You may not know it, but our modern practice of Secret Santa has been around a long time and spans the Western world. It's called many things depending where you are - Kris Kindel, Whichteln, Amigo Secreto - but the premise remains the same: a giver is matched up with a recipient who does not know his or her identity. When the gift is finally opened, the secret can then be revealed or participants can guess. That element of anonymity and surprise is what makes Secret Santa so compelling and just plain fun.
Today, we even have Secret Santa online, as well as many other gift exchange variations like White Elephant and Yankee Swap. At Crouch Florist, we think that no matter how your group swaps, the gifts should be good. Read More about A Secret Santa Gift That Dazzles »

One of the best ways to keep up the holiday spirit is to deck your workplace halls with gusto. Gather your coworkers and colleagues and bring out the boxes of decor from the back office - it's time to string the lights, set up the tree and hang the tinsel garland.
Over at Crouch Florist, we're feeling the season's rich, layered colors and textures. Floral designs are full of fun, brimming with accents like pine cones and cinnamon sticks, bountiful ribbons and glittery vases. While your workplace family is decorating the tree and lining up the poinsettias, don't overlook putting out a floral arrangement or two; the holiday cheer you get from a fresh seasonal arrangement is like nothing else. Amid the hustle and bustle of shopping, planning and executing a feast fit for your loved ones, it can be easy to forget what Thanksgiving's all about. As we set up our dining rooms and otherwise prepare our homes to welcome people in, we may overlook one of the most beautiful - and spirit-filled - aspects of our holiday table: the centerpiece. A floral arrangement set at the heart of the table captures the spirit of the season, reflecting its richness and bounty, and we here at Crouch Florist know a thing or two about that.
This Thanksgiving, bring some light and life to your table with a cheerful centerpiece. Read More about Sunny Centerpieces for Thanksgiving »
Every year, we here in Knoxville celebrate Veterans Day with the parade, watching our finest and brightest former U.S. military march or ride along, dressed in uniform, waving and saluting proudly. At Crouch Florist, we're looking forward to honoring those who served both personally and collectively, at one of our many area events and observances. We're also thinking about how to communicate our gratitude in a meaningful way with flowers. If you are apart from your favorite vet this year, reaching out to express your gratitude for their efforts is probably going to be an important part of your Veterans Day. We'd like to help by suggesting some green gifts. Read More about Green Gifts for Veterans Day »
